My server just served this guy and I am legitimately stressed for his future

Saw this guy at the hotel bar tonight. He was sitting alone for three hours with a notebook and a half-full glass of whiskey, just staring at a bathroom faucet handle he clearly took off the wall. He kept cleaning the screw threads with a napkin, like he was trying to fix a leak that wasn't there. When a woman walked up and put a hand on his shoulder, he didn't even turn around right away—he just went rigid and let out this breath like he'd been holding it all day. They didn't say a word to each other for ten minutes, but the way he eventually stood up and walked away with her? Total 'I'm done trying to be normal' energy. Is this a breakup or is he just a massive weirdo?

That's definitely . Saw him at a project launch last week and he was exactly this intense about the light bulbs.

Reply to DramaQueen_NYC: He actually seems kind of sweet? Like, he cares too much.

Wait, is that a vintage-style hotel fixture? That looks like a custom repair job. Only a complete freak or a serious pro carries tools to a hotel.

Reply to NYC_Design_Obsessed: Def a pro. I recognize those hands from the Vale & Finch site visits.

He looks like the type to plan a romantic weekend and then spend it reorganizing your suitcase.

If you saw him, you know he didn't drink the whiskey. He just held it. What was he actually waiting for?

I'd let him fix my sink, tbh. The intensity is a vibe.

Does he fix things because he's a perfectionist or because he's trying to control the room?

He's not a weirdo, he's just from the Springs. Everyone there is obsessed with old fixtures. Trust me.

He looks like he's about to have a mental breakdown. Someone get that man a nap and a normal hobby.
