Who is the 'scene mom' who actually bails everyone out but disappears as soon as the lights come up?
Saw this girl at that basement venue in Bushwick tonight. Everyone was absolutely losing their minds, drinks spilling everywhere, just pure chaos. She was basically the human anchor for the entire group—kept one girl from walking into a speaker, calmed down some dude who was trying to start a fight, and literally paid the tab for three people who 'forgot' their wallets. Then, at 2 AM, she just stood in the corner, looked at her phone for a second, and vanished into the rain before anyone could even say thanks. It wasn't like she was shy, she just looked... done? Does she actually know these people or is she just there to be the person who holds everyone's bags?
Wait, did she actually grab someone's wrist to pull them out? That sounds like a main character moment.
Reply to fomo_victim: Yeah, saw that. It was surprisingly firm.
Pretty sure that's . She takes all the photos for the local labels. Super cool, but good luck getting more than three words out of her.
Reply to vibe_checker_nyc: She barely even looked up when the music stopped. Is she always that checked out?
I think I saw her at the gallery opening last week? Same vibe. Just standing there, looking like she's ready to bolt at any second.
Reply to indie_trash_99: She's literally the glue. Without her, half these bands wouldn't make it to their set because they'd be locked in a bathroom somewhere.
She's not 'checked out'—she's just tired of carrying the whole scene on her back. I'd leave early too.
The jacket is sick though. Anyone know where it's from?
I feel like I've seen her crying in a bodega once and then acting like nothing happened the next day. Intense.
Is she in a band or something? Why is she always with the main people but never talking?
Oh that's just her. She's at every show in the neighborhood. Usually has an oat latte in her hand, even at 3 AM.
