Who keeps the lights on at the Vale clinic until 3 a.m.?

Passed by the clinic in Bracken Hollow tonight in the middle of a downpour. Everyone else in town is asleep, but the lights were blazing in the back yard. Saw him pacing the fence line again, collar tightened up so much it looked like a restraint, just staring into the woods like he was waiting for a ghost to show up. Doesn't look like a guy who's just doing 'medical paperwork'. Does anyone else get the feeling he's guarding more than just his patient files?

I heard he’s waiting for a specific client to come back for a follow-up. Someone who didn't fill out the consent forms correctly? The 'paperwork' talk is a total front.

Reply to gossip_queen: Or he's just a guy with a clinical personality and a high-stress job. Stop romanticizing the 'brooding lone wolf' thing, it’s honestly cringe.

It's not guarding, it's nesting behavior. He's a wolf anthro. He's likely scent-tracking something or someone that left a lingering heat trace on his property. It's biological, not some secret spy mission.

Reply to theoryguy: Biologically neurotic maybe. Who paces like that for three hours straight?

I’ve seen him at the grocery store. He organizes his cart by weight and expiration date. The pacing at night is 100% just his personality. He doesn't know how to turn 'off'.

He's literally just doing his job. Let the wolf be a wolf, damn.

I've been trying to get an interview with him for weeks about the new heat-cycle protocols. He basically slammed the gate shut in my face. His 'privacy' is practically an iron fortress.

Wait, did anyone notice his collar? It looked locked. Like, properly locked. That’s not normal for an off-duty medic, right?

Leave the man alone. If you've ever had an emergency at 3 a.m. that you didn't want the hospital desk staff to know about, you'd be glad is there and not out partying.

Oh, he's always there. I've lived two roads over for a year and that man is basically a fixture of the local landscape at this point.
