Caught the corporate heir playing acoustic guitar in the fire exit stairwell of the gala tonight.
I was stepping out for some air at the charity auction when I heard actual music coming from the stairwell. It wasn't some classical score playing through the speakers; it was just a guy with an acoustic guitar, looking completely exhausted, playing something bluesy and honestly kind of sad. Then he looks up, sees me, and his entire demeanor shifts. He shuts down, puts the guitar back in the case, and walks past me with that icy, 'Director of Strategy' look like I’m just part of the wall. He was gone before I could even say hi. Why does a guy who runs half the city have to hide in a stairwell to feel like a human being?
That is acting like the golden child at the front and then disappearing like this. Someone ask him what he's actually running from.
Reply to CorporateSpy: He seems so lonely, honestly.
He's under a massive amount of pressure with the merger. Maybe he just needs to vent?
Reply to BusinessInsider: Or maybe he's hiding something he doesn't want the board to see.
He looked so tense all night, honestly. His stepbrother was holding court like he owned the place while Mark just stood in the corner.
Reply to GalaGuest_X: Total rivalry vibes. You could cut the air with a knife.
Does he ever look happy in public?
I bet he's plotting something big against the stepbrothers. Why else keep the guitar hidden?
I heard he used to be so chill back in Canada. What did they do to him?
Is that a custom Martin? He really knows his gear if so.
That’s definitely the guy. I saw him at the board meeting earlier today looking like he wanted to jump out a window.
