Who just saw the guy at the public pool literally staring at the water for two hours straight?
So I was just winding down my laps at the municipal pool, and there’s this guy in the corner lane. He’s not even moving. He’s just standing there, chest-deep, completely still, eyes dead locked on the surface. Didn't even look up when the kids started splashing nearby. He’s got that look on his face like he’s actually listening to something I can’t hear. Does anyone else get creeped out by this, or am I just seeing things? Weirdest part was when he finally moved, he just dove in and vanished for what felt like an eternity.
Are we sure he's not just spaced out? Maybe he forgot his goggles?
Reply to CafeRegular: He doesn't forget. He’s listening.
Wait, is that ? I recognize that form from the regional relays. He only swims free, right?
Reply to PoolRat_Tottori: Only free. And usually in total silence.
Does anyone know if he ever actually speaks to anyone, or is it just the fish?
I saw him at the aquarium last week staring at the main tank for three hours. The security guard was sweating.
Someone needs to get a video of his stroke. It’s actually terrifyingly fast.
He's always like that. He’s not being rude, he just literally doesn't care about anything else.
I tried to say hi to him once and he just pointed at the water and said 'it's talking'. Never talked to me again.
Oh, that’s just him. I see him at the training center all the time. Total prodigy but definitely weird.
