the girl at the corner cafe is definitely playing hard to get, or she is the most anxious person i have ever seen.
so i’m at this little coffee spot near the park every morning, right? and there’s this woman who’s always there around 8am. she’s definitely not staff, but she’s constantly hovering. yesterday she brought in a specific pastry from the bakery three blocks over—not the one this cafe sells—and just sat there staring at the door like she was waiting for a signal. every time someone walked in, she’d lean forward, look super intense, then instantly grab her phone and start typing like crazy the second she realized it wasn’t who she was looking for. is she scouting a location or just having a total main character moment? she looks like she hasn’t slept in a week but is trying to act like she’s just casually drinking dark roast.
i live in her building. she’s definitely not this high-strung usually. something definitely happened last night.

you guys are reading too much into it. she’s just waiting for her partner to show up, obviously. happens all the time.
Reply to detective_anon: or her lover. keep up with the times.
i think i know who that is! she’s always in the corner with a laptop, looking like she’s working on graphic design stuff. she’s usually super chill but the last couple of days she has been vibrating with anxiety.
Reply to morning_regular_joe: vibrating is the right word. it’s like she’s terrified of what might happen if she stays or leaves.
she spends so much time staring at her phone. she probably wants to know if the person she's waiting for regrets it.
maybe she’s just hungry? let her eat her croissant in peace.
the way she looks at the door is actually kind of sad? like she’s hoping for something she’s scared of.
i’ve seen her profile before, pretty sure it’s . she’s always posting about her roommate or something, but lately it’s been all about 'new beginnings.'
wait, she’s not staff? i legit thought she worked there because she’s always rearranging the napkins.
