the guy who never leaves the cliffs without his orange flowers
so i was hiking the coastal trail today, way out past the main tourist spots, and i saw him again. just standing there, completely still in this heavy black jacket, staring at the waves. he has this old-school film camera around his neck like it’s glued to him. it’s not even a sunny day, but he just stood there for hours. at one point, he knelt down and carefully placed a bunch of orange lilies on the rocks. he didn't even look up when the tide got close, just waited until the water almost hit his boots. the weirdest part? his whole vibe is so grey and muted, but those lilies were the only thing in that entire scene that didn't look like a black and white photograph. it was honestly kind of haunting.
is he okay? why the lilies?
Reply to curious_cat: nobody knows. he never says a word. it’s been years of the same routine.
wait, i think i've seen him before. he’s always at that spot on tuesdays, right?
Reply to ocean_drift: yeah, every single tuesday. he ignores everyone. don't even try to talk to him.
he captures the sea better than anyone else i've seen. there's so much pain in those shots.
i’ve seen him actually get aggressive when some tourist tried to pick up the flowers. he’s super protective of those lilies.
i tried to ask him about the camera once when he was at a cafe. he just gave me this blank look and walked away. total ice block.
that looks freezing. why would anyone want to spend their time in that weather?
if you mean the photographer who works out of that tiny studio by the harbor, i think his handle is . good luck getting a response, he barely talks to his gallery owner.
the camera he's carrying is a beast. i’ve seen his photos in a local gallery once. all monochrome. it’s like he doesn’t see any other color.
