Seen at Midtown lobby: The guy who literally sets a timer for affection
Saw this guy waiting in the lobby of a major startup building in Midtown for three hours tonight. He looked completely bored, just scrolling his phone in a sharp pinstripe shirt and frameless glasses. The second the elevator doors opened and his partner walked out, he didn't even say a word. He just walked up, pulled her hand straight to his abs, and rested his chin on her shoulder like he’d been waiting for a kiss quota to expire. I swear he was pouting because she was late. Is this the new standard for Manhattan boyfriends or did I just witness a total meltdown?
He’s probably just manipulative. Look at the pose. Who poses like that in a lobby?
Reply to Skeptic_Realist: Or maybe he just genuinely missed her? You're reading too much into it.
Wait, I recognize that guy. He’s the trainer from that Soho gym. Always looks like he’s staring through walls until he’s with someone.
Reply to NYC_Observer: Can confirm, he is intense. I've seen him at the gym and he acts like he's auditioning for a thriller movie until he gets a text, then he just melts.
I live near his loft. I swear he’s always carrying bags of groceries like he’s running a restaurant. The guy is a machine.
Does he do this every night? Someone tell me the gossip, does she actually like it or is she just annoyed?
The glasses. The pinstripes. He is definitely trying to look like a serious corporate husband. Mission accomplished?
I think that’s . He’s always posting about 'tracking his KPIs' like it's some sort of romantic game. It’s actually weirdly sweet if you dig into it.
If my guy showed up to my office building every night, I’d be equal parts terrified and obsessed. That’s a whole lot of cling for a weeknight.
Three hours?? That’s not 'waiting for a partner', that’s 'waiting to be noticed'. The pouting is crazy.
