Spotted: the guy who refuses to leave the dive bar soundboard even after the staff turns the lights on
Saw this guy again at The Rusty Anchor tonight. The place closed at 2 AM and he’s still hunched over his mixer like he’s trying to decode a dead language. He didn’t even look up when the bartender tried to kick him out for the third time. He just kept adjusting these tiny knobs on a beat-up pedal with a cigarette dangling from his lip. It’s like the guy lives in a different timezone than the rest of us. He looks like he hasn’t slept in a week but he’s perfectly calm. Does anyone know if he actually gets paid to stay that late or is he just allergic to his own apartment?
i'm the bartender. he's literally there every night i work. he never orders food, just black coffee or whatever is left over. i don't get why he sticks around, no one else is there.
Reply to bar_staff_diary: maybe ask him? someone find his account. i need to know why someone would willingly sit in a closed bar alone.
he looks way too intense for a bar that smells like stale beer. is he a tech or a musician? can't tell if he's working or just avoiding his real life.
Reply to no_filter_jen: he's a bit of both. i've tried to talk to him about his setup before, he just gives one-word answers. super weird.
wait, is that the guy who owes money to everyone in the scene? thought he quit music a year ago.
found him. is the one in the photo. no idea why he's like that though, good luck getting a straight answer out of him.
it's honestly kind of sad? like he's hiding in the music so he doesn't have to deal with whatever is waiting at home.
that pedalboard is a vintage nightmare. he probably spends more on those repairs than on his own rent. i’ve seen him at a few shows, he barely talks to his bandmates, just stays in the corner.
wait, i recognize that jacket. i think he lives in that complex on 4th? he's always carrying around guitar cases at like 3 am.
oh that's just the bass player from that band that always plays on tuesdays. he's always there, man. like, i think he literally just goes from the stage to the board and stays until they kick him out.
