found: the guy who literally refuses to take a tip even when he's broke

Saw this guy working the bar tonight at that dive off Broadway. Someone tried to slip him a fifty on top of a single beer, like a massive overtip. He just stared at the guy for a second, pushed the money back across the counter, and said he 'didn't need the pity.' Then he just turned around and started tuning his bass in the dark. Talk about having a massive chip on your shoulder. The vibes were honestly so hostile but also kinda magnetic? Does anyone actually know this guy?

He's a student, right? Why is he always playing bass in a bar instead of, like, studying?

Reply to music_theory_baddie: Asking the real questions. I have no idea.

I don't know, maybe he just has self-respect? Not everyone wants to be treated like a charity case.

Reply to sara_vibes: Self-respect or ego? There's a fine line.

That's , he's in some local grunge band. Total nightmare to deal with but their sound is actually insane.

Reply to music_nerd99: Wait, the guy who acts like he's doing the patrons a favor by serving them? Can confirm.

Yikes the attitude.

Seen him leaving at 3am looking like he hasn't slept in a week. Weird guy.

Is he always working? I swear I see him there every time I close the bar.

His bass tone is the only thing he cares about. I've tried talking to him after sets and he just gives you the 'k' treatment.

He's always like that. He thinks everyone is condescending or something. It’s exhausting to watch.
