I was pulling an extra shift near the border and saw the fortress terrace lit up by that eerie golden glow. She wasn't leading an army or burning a village. She was just sitting there in her ruined silver plate, looking at the seal, rubbing the cracks on her breastplate like she was trying to scrub away a stain that won't come out. She didn't look like a monster. She looked like she was waiting for someone who wasn't coming. It was the most lonely thing I’ve ever seen. Why keep the armor if it's falling apart?
