Saw this guy outside the bodega on 4th earlier. He was trying to get into his car, but this orange cat was literally guarding the door and hissing like its life depended on it. Instead of shooing it away, he just… stood there? Like, he kept pulling fancy cat treats out of his bag one by one, tossing them further away to distract it, but then would stop and just stare down the cat every time it hissed. He looked absolutely miserable—like he hadn't slept in a week—but he didn't move until the cat finally got bored and left. Who is this guy and why does he have so much patience for a stray?
