Why is the lobby light still on for him?

Just saw him leave the building after what must have been an eighteen-hour day. He looked exhausted, but the second he stepped into his car, he didn’t just lean back—he locked his phone and looked straight at the reflection in the window for a solid ten seconds. Like he was checking if the persona was still holding together. The car took off and the lights in his unit are still blazing at 3 AM. Does he ever actually sleep, or is he just staring at mirrors?
