does anyone know why the girl from the cafe always buys extra pastries?

has anyone else noticed this? there's this photographer who hangs out at the cafe near the condo building on 4th. she's always there, usually with a camera and headphones, looking like she's editing for hours. but every single time someone leaves the table next to her, she buys a coffee and a pastry for them, leaves it on the chair, and then just walks out. it's the same routine. she doesn't even talk to the people she leaves the coffee for. it's like she's fulfilling a script or something. yesterday she looked like she wanted to say something to a guy who finished his set, but then she just shoved her camera into her bag and left in such a hurry. is this like some weird art project or is she just the most anxious person on earth? it's getting kind of hard to ignore at this point. she's always there in her oversized vintage tees, looking like she’s either about to cry or about to fall asleep, but she never actually does anything. if you know her, tell her she’s missing out on the actual conversation.

She looks like she’s about to bolt the second someone says hi to her. I tried once and she just turned bright red and started cleaning her camera lens for ten minutes.

Reply to no_filter_guy: That is exactly the vibe. Why is she like this?

Wait, I know exactly who this is. She's always at the corner table. I thought she was just waiting for a date that never shows up??

Reply to caffeine_junkie: That’s what I thought too! But she does it way too often for it to be one person.

Does she actually want someone to talk to her, or is the distance part of the deal? I really want to know what she'd say if someone just sat down.

She’s not doing it for art. It’s just her. She’s weirdly domestic for someone who lives as a freelancer.

Is she the one with the handle ? Pretty sure I've seen her posting similar vibes on her feed.

Maybe she's just trying to be nice? Like, a quiet way of showing care? People are so cynical these days.

I live in the same condo building. I see her lugging groceries in almost every day, always looks like she's overcompensating for something. Super sweet though.

Honestly, she’s a pro photographer. I've seen her work on some wedding shoots. She's incredibly observant, but yeah, in person? She's painfully shy.
