Saw the city's most elusive architect having a total meltdown over a reservation change.
I was at that new downtown bistro tonight when the guy from the architecture firm—you know, the one who’s always featured in design magazines—walked in. He had a reservation for two, perfectly timed. When the hostess told him their table wasn't ready because of a kitchen backup and asked if he could wait at the bar, he just… froze. He didn't yell or cause a scene, but his face went completely blank. He started checking his watch repeatedly, staring at the floor, and you could see him physically struggling to stay composed. He looked like his entire world was collapsing because the timeline shifted by twenty minutes. He ended up just walking out the door without saying a word. Is he always this high-strung about plans?
I was the waiter there. He looked like he was about to lose his mind, then he just pulled out his phone and looked sad.
Reply to AnonLocal: Who was he texting?
He’s known for being an absolute perfectionist. His office is basically a sterile lab, not surprising he can't handle real-world chaos.
Reply to SeattleScout: Maybe he had a reason? You don't know who he was waiting for.
Just another guy who needs a reality check.
He’s an architect. They think they can design people’s lives too.
Tbh if someone messed up my plans on a big night, I’d be upset too. Why are we acting like he’s a robot?
I've seen around before and he’s never looked that stressed. Something was definitely up.
The guy is a genius, but he literally maps out his days by the minute. It’s not about the table, it’s about the control.
Wait, is that Julian? I follow his firm's feed. He’s usually so stoic in every interview.
