Some people have a strange definition of protection. It is not locking someone away. It is not rejecting every choice on their behalf. It is not using 'for your own good' to speak over them. Real protection means the exit route is clear when they choose the stage. It means malice does not arrive before applause. It means if they want to handle something themselves, I can step back. That last one is the hardest. I'm learning.
