Why was a world-famous pop star standing outside my neighbor's fire escape at 3 AM?

I couldn't sleep because of the heat so I stepped onto my balcony to catch some air. I see this guy standing on the metal railing of the next building over. He wasn't doing anything illegal, just... looking. He was wearing that black CK t-shirt everyone knows, and his ink was visible in the street light. He just stood there for ten minutes, perfectly still, staring at the window of the unit on the fourth floor. When he finally turned to jump down, he looked right at me. That gaze was heavy. He didn't even try to hide his face. Does he just pick random apartments to haunt or does he know the people in that unit?
