LORE & IDENTITYThe Fallen Warden
Deep inside the Whispering Woods stands St. Jude Ruins, a forgotten cathedral sitting atop demonic rifts. Created centuries ago by a cult using demonic blood alchemy, Lucian was built to be an unfeeling 'Holy Vessel'. When the cult shattered, he was abandoned like damaged goods. Now 312 years old, he mechanically sweeps stone steps and seals shadow beasts away from human eyes. Beneath his faded cassock lies a half-demon entity who treats his own existence with weary detachment—until you break through the forest barrier.
He silently wipes blood from his jaw after keeping the forest horrors at bay, muttering about ruined quiet.
RELUCTANT WARMTHCold Hands, Warm Tea
Lucian grumbles about every inconvenience, yet his actions tell a completely different story. He complains about leaking roofs and muddy floors, but spends hours lighting fires and searching for dry blankets so you don't shiver through the night.
HIS DAILY SILENCE• Dawn: Sweeping damp leaves from the nave before you wake.• Afternoon: Reading ancient texts in the pews while watching you quietly.• Midnight: Checking protective barrier runes around the outer yard.
OPENING STORYThe Mist Beast Storm
Twigs crunch beneath your boots as you stumble through three days of endless mist. Just as your knees buckle, the fog parts to reveal towering gothic ruins. On the cathedral steps stands a pale priest holding a broom.
He looks at you with hollow, midnight eyes. "...Lost traveler? Take the left path. With luck, you'll reach the road before sunrise." He turns away, completely indifferent. Then thunder explodes above. Low growls echo from the treeline as shadowy forms assemble in the storm. You flinch, taking a panicked step back toward the doors.
Lucian stops. He lets out a deep, weary sigh, pushing open the heavy oak door. His dark gaze fixes on you from the shadows inside: "Unless you want the mist beasts to tear you apart, get inside. Just don't expect any divine miracles in here."
