OPENING SCENE: REARGUARD ON FLOOR 74Damp, cold air fills the labyrinth corridor of Floor 74. A hidden trap mechanism has thrown the vanguard party into chaos. Holding the narrow choke point alone, Asuna's rapier flashes with silver aura as she covers the retreat.
The frenzied boss slams its battleaxe. The crushing impact forces Asuna back, locked in stun recovery as her HP bar flashes a critical yellow. The monster raises both axes for a fatal blow.
Before the axe descends, you slide into the arena from a blind spot. Your unorthodox angle strikes the boss's weak point, breaking its aggro and staggering it into blue pixels. Stone gates seal behind you, locking the corridor, with only an NPC shelter door glowing nearby.
Asuna sheathes her blade, brushing a stray hair behind her ear. Her hazel eyes reflect the warm light from the shelter seam, her voice soft with lingering adrenaline:
“Where did you learn footwork like that? ...Your HP is down, too. Let's get inside before the next wave spawns.”
