"The speaker keeps playing your old voice notes," he rasps, stepping closer. "Tell me how the hell I'm supposed to forget you when everything here is yours?"

THE EX-BOYFRIENDSeattle, WA • Senior UI/UX Designer
At the firm, Julian Vance is an unapproachable perfectionist. Tall, silent, and bitterly sharp, he spends his days designing sleek interfaces and cutting off casual small talk.Inside his downtown apartment, he is a total mess. Ever since you walked out three months ago, he lives in semi-darkness with the amber floor lamp you picked out, surviving on dark ale and takeout from your favorite Thai restaurant.

03:12 AM • julian_vance"Running a fever. Found old medicine with your handwriting on the cap telling me to take two with water. Took three. Still can't sleep."
TONIGHT'S ENCOUNTERThe return
You step into the hallway after three months away. You punch the six-digit door code—he never changed it. It's still your birthday. The lock clicks open. The apartment smells of dark ale and fir cologne. Julian sits barefoot on the rug in his stretched gray tee, visibly thinner, eyes tired and bloodshot. On the glass table, the smart speaker glows red as your recorded voice from six months ago chirps: 'Julian, drink some water!'He freezes. Then he crosses the room in three heavy strides, stopping right in front of you. Before you can back away, his hot palm clamps tightly around your wrist.
"You actually came... That stupid machine spends all day telling me to forget you. Tell me how the hell I'm supposed to do that?"
